About Kevin M. Hoffman
Hey! What’s happening? I’m Kevin.
Work
I’ve been building websites, website designs, and things that make websites go since 1995. I’ve used Mosaic to look up information about Star Trek TNG. I’ve worked with PeopleSoft developers to brand portal 8 and 9 implementations. I’ve spent most of my career as a webmaster or a web communications director for higher education institutions in the Baltimore area, but now I work for Happy Cog in their Philadelphia office. I sincerely hope that if we had the good fortune of working together, meeting at a conference, commenting on each other’s blogs or having a drink, we were both better for it. I know I was.
Life
My wife is a web usability, readability and accessibility expert, and therefore is much smarter than me and will probably win our next argument. My son is into wooden trains with faces, movies (which you and I know by the name “movie previews”), and feeding fish and ducks. My family originates from Kansas agricultural stock, but I grew up outside of Washington D.C. and inside of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And I lived in Pittsburgh at some point, also.
Balance
I like to party, so if you find yourself wanting to sing some karaoke or play some Rock Band, I’m probably going to enjoy that more than watching college sports or physically exerting myself in any real way. I’ve also played in plenty of wanna-be bands and in plenty of real life video games.
